QOTAROO exhibition at BACC!!

Hey everyone. How are you?? I’m good.

I played dj for QOTAROO exhibition at BACC last Sunday.

QOTAROO’s Biography
Born in Osaka, Japan in 1977.
Started DJing as a House music DJ when he was a teenager.
Participated “Burning Man”, the most famous freaky art festival in 2003. Then organized many parties as a booking manager of Club Zing, Osaka.
Has been producing artworks for the party flyer, CD & vinyl jacket, advertisement, WEB and apparel brand throughout Japan.
Now based in Osaka, takes part in ‘Original Future Dance Party’ called “POWWOW” and a creator’s mixed media production “Cosmic Lab”.

“QOTAROO is a graphic artist / designer and one of leaders of a party scene in Kansai (West Japan). In past, he organized many parties as a booking manager of Club Zing. Now he holds Powwow at various places in Japan dropping imagination, which comes from parties, into his designs while he circulates dance floors and designs. Like he says ‘When making flyers and jackets, I think I make colors for melodies and shapes for grooves. And it’s a translation from hearing to sight.’ QOTAROO expresses, very naturally and closely, feelings and vibrations DJs put into sounds. ‘I Watch the sound. I hear the light.’ This sense is the true charm of QOTAROO’s designs.”

どうもTO-RUです！

こないだの日曜日、BACCにてQOTAROOさんのフライヤーエキシビジョンがあって、そこでDJしてきました。

QOTAROO（ ookflash / CosmicLab / POWWOW )
1977年9月9日4時4分大阪生まれ。ヴィジュアルトランスレーター/グラフィックデザイナー etc…。10代の頃よりDJとして活動。2003年に世界最狂のフリークアウトフェスティバル“BurningMan”に参加後パーティーオーガナイズを始め、その延長でフライヤーを中心としたグラフィックデザインを開始。それ以降日本各地のパーティーフライヤー/ CD＆アナログジャケット/広告 / アパレルブランドへのデザイン提供など、多様なスタイルを使い分けた多数のアートワークとデザインを制作。その傍らCLUB ZINGのブッキングマネージャーとして数々のパーティーをオーガナイズし、国内外の最重要な才人達を紹介してきた。現在はCMT / DNT / YAMACHANG / KABAMIXと共にORIGINAL PHUTURE DANCE “POWWOW”開催。“Cosmic Lab”にも参加し、共に活動中。

このエキシビジョンのDJにDJ TO-RU、DJ mAsa 、DJ SOUNDSTYLIST、DJ BRWNSUGRZ。

Today (Wed/10/Aug/2011) is special ladies night at Q bar (Sukhumvit soi11)!!

Special guest DJ JUN from JAPAN!!!

DJ JUN:

DJ Jun started DJing in 1999 and quickly established himself as a name to be reckoned with in Tokyo and Osaka as well as other regions such as Okayama, Shikoku and Chugoku while simultaneously building a rep in the US. Having opened for a who’s who list of Hip Hop legends both domestic and foreign (PETE ROCK /KENNY DOPE /GROUP HOME /MIC GERONIMO /BABY BUM /FIVE DEEZ /PASE ROCK/ DJ SPINBAD / DJ SPINNA /DJ MILO /KARIZMA etc…) June quickly gained massive respect amongst his peers.

Battin era:
Titus Glover (March 8, 1974–July 31, 2009), also known as Baatin, was an American rapper who emerged from the mid-1990s underground hip hop scene in Detroit, Michigan part of the rap group Slum Village.[1]

Baatin got his start on the mic in 1986. In the early ’90s, he befriended the now deceased rapper Proof (of D12), and would accompany him to hip-hop nights at Stanley’s Café and 1515 Broadway. In 1991, Baatin’s hip-hop group, Ssenepod (dopeness spelled backward), changed its name to Slum Village, which at the time, was made up of J Dilla, Baatin and T3. It was then that Glover first christened himself Scandalous-T.

He remained as an active member of the group until the early 2000′s. In the year 2002, shortly after the release of the group’s third album, Baatin began to experience health problems, which interfered with the group’s music and touring performances.
