日本、仙台出身。幼少時代Rockで育ち、16歳にHIP-HOPと出会い、1999年にDJ活動スタート。その時、のちにDMC DJ CHAMPIONSHIP 2002で2位とダブルスコアを付け圧倒的強さで世界を制した、DJ KENTAROと出会った。2002年にSCRATCHをはじめ、DMC JAPAN、ITF JAPANなど数々のDJ大会に出場し、地元仙台でのTurn Tablistシーンの地位を築き上げる。HIP-HOPにとどまらず、Break Beats、House、Reggae、Drum’n’ Bass、など様々なジャンルをMIXするPLAY STYLEを特徴としてます。2009年日本を飛び出て、単身バンコク、タイに渡り音楽活動はじめました。

2008年12月:

2008年6月:
DMC JAPAN CHAMPIONSHIPS東北ブロック出場。

2007年12月:
DJ JIFROCK（2003 ALLIES BEAT DOWN DJ BATTLE WORLD 3rd Place）と共演

2007年7月:
自身初となるDMC JAPAN CHAMPIONSHIPS東北ブロックに出場

2005年10月:
I.T.F. JAPAN CHAMPIONSHIPS HOKKAIDO / TOUHOKUに出場

2005年12月:
自らがオーガナイズするALL GOOD MUSIC & SCRATCHのイベント【Parfect Beats（仙台 ADD）】開始

2010年6月:
Asahi and Homebass Communications presents Dubway the artwork of T.Puchpen のAfter Partyで、ゲストDJとしてDub StepをPlay。

2010年6月:
初の自ら全部プロデュースしたParty『Talking all that groove』第２弾。でDJ。

2010年5月:
夜間外出禁止令が解け友人のお店Traps(Japanese Style clothing Shop)のサイアムスクエア店Opening PartyでOpening DJを勤める。

その後デモが悪化し５月下旬まで夜間外出禁止令が発令。休業を余儀なくされる。

2010年5月:
初の自ら全部プロデュースしたParty『Talking all that groove』を開始。

2010年4月:
Le Fenix Hotelの屋上にあるNESTのParty『MODE』でメインでDJ。

2010年4月:
毎年恒例になっている2002年DMC Wold Championshipでアジア人初となる世界一に輝いたDJKENTAROバンコクGigのウォームアップDJを勤める。

2010年3月:
２度目となるDJ TAMA SPC from from Hokaidoのバンコクgig at Q barのオーガナイザーとウォームアップDJを勤め、大成功。

2010年2月:
DHD at NarzでDJ。

Profile

DJ TO-RU is a Japanese DJ from Sendai City, a northern city where top Japanese DJs come from such as DJ Kentaro and DJ Mitsu The Beats. He grew up with rock music and encountered hip hop at the age of 16. He fell in love with the turntablism culture and started djing in 1999. That was the time he met DJ Kentaro, who became the champ of DMC DJ Championship 2002 with the difference of a double score in points between him and the second place. To-ru then started scratching and has participated in various DJ competitions such as DMC Japan, ITF Japan to contribute to and establish himself in the turntablist scene in Sendai.
Toru’s DJ style is flawless and cross-genre, mixing hip hop to breakbeats, house, reggae to D’N’B.  He just takes on quality music regardless of genre and attracts people with his flexibility, creativity and dynamism worldwide.
To-ru has been based in Bangkok since 2009 and pursuing his music career energetically.
In Japan

Dec 2008:     Organized a party having DJ Co-ma (2006 DMC Battle for World Supremacy Champion) and DJ Zoe (2007 Vestax Extravaganza World Final Japan Champion, 2nd place in the world) as guest DJs and performed as a warm-up DJ.

Mar 2010:     DJed @ Club Baobab in Hachinohe, Aomori as a guest DJ from Thailand.

Jun 2008:     Participated in DMC Japan Championship Tohoku (northeastern Japan) Block.

Dec 2007:     DJed with DJ Jif Rock (2003 Allies Beat Down DJ Battle World Final 3rd place).

Jul 2007:     Participated in DMC Japan Championship Tohoku Block and it was the very first DJ battle to attend.

Oct 2005:     Participated in ITF Japan Championship Hokkaido/Tohoku Block.
Dec 2005:     Launched self-organized party “Perfect Beats” at Add in Sendai for good music & scratch.

May 2010:   Curfew was lifted and DJed for the opening party of Traps Siam Square Shop (Traps – Japanese style clothing brand)

Red-shirt demonstration worsened political situations in Bangkok. Thai government imposed a curfew on the city until the end of May and it caused all clubs and bars to close or finish way earlier than their usual operation hours and I could not DJ during the curfew.
